These are the terms for using Nouvel, a journaling and self reflection app. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them.
What Nouvel is
Nouvel is a private space for journaling and self reflection. It offers guided prompts, check ins, and optional AI assisted reflections on what you write. It is a self reflection tool, not a medical device, not a therapy service, and not a substitute for professional care.
Nouvel is not a crisis service. If an entry you write appears to describe a crisis, the app may show a short supportive message. It is not a substitute for emergency services, a crisis line, or a licensed professional.
If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please contact emergency services or a crisis line in your country right away. In the United States you can call or text 988. Nouvel cannot see your entries in real time, cannot contact anyone on your behalf, and cannot respond to an emergency.
No medical or therapeutic advice
Nothing in the app, including anything generated by AI, is medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. It does not diagnose, treat, or claim to treat any condition. Use your own judgment, and talk to a qualified professional about anything serious.
Your account
An account is required to use Nouvel. You can sign in with Apple, or with your email address. You are responsible for whatever device or account you use to access Nouvel. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us.
Your content
What you write is yours. By using AI features, you allow Nouvel to send the relevant text to our service providers so they can generate a response, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your writing, do not sell it, and do not use it to train any model. You can delete any entry, or your whole account, at any time.
Age
Nouvel is written for adults and is not directed at children. If you are old enough in your country to agree to these terms on your own, you may use the app. A parent or guardian is responsible for a minor’s use of the app.
Acceptable use
Do not use Nouvel to store or share content that is illegal, that impersonates someone else, or that is meant to harm another person. Do not try to break, reverse engineer, or abuse the service, including the AI features, in a way that could disrupt it for other people.
Availability
Nouvel is provided as is. Features, including AI generated reflections, may be unavailable, delayed, or wrong sometimes. We do not guarantee the app will be available at all times or free of mistakes.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Nouvel and its creator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including anything an AI generated feature says. Use the app at your own discretion, especially around anything it suggests or reflects back to you.
Changes to the app or these terms
We may change the app or these terms over time. If a change materially affects your rights, the date at the top of this page will change and the app will tell you.
Ending your account
You can delete your account, and everything synced to it, at any time from inside the app under Profile. Deletion is scheduled 24 hours ahead and can be cancelled with one tap during that window. You do not need to contact us to do it. We may suspend or end an account that violates these terms.
